
VIP on the Yard!
Everybody welcome new boy, Pumpkin to the yard! I’ve very kindly been loaned Pumpkin as the schoolmaster that he is, from Angela Mackenzie from AMK Dressage to learn from and really develop as a rider. Pumpkin has competed up to Inter 1 with Angela so he knows all the tricks .... I just have to learn how to ask for them! Weekly Round Up - Saturday 18th July 2020
We’ve had another full-on week here at KA with another new arrival, the launch of our new volunteer programme, a farrier visit and as always, the continued progressive training of the horses - some permanent, others who are just visiting! NEW ARRIVAL For the last few weeks I’ve been travelling to AMK Dressage every other day up in Auchterarder to train on her extremely handsome and a little bit quirky (!) advanced schoolmaster, Pumpkin. The A-Steam - A new item on the hay menu!
We’ve always been aware of the differing needs and tastes of the horses in our care - some need to have their hay soaked in order to control their weight, some will only eat it dry, others won’t eat hay at all and must have haylage! With our new Ascot hay steamer, we’re able to add another offering to the hay menu here at KAEquestrian .... steamed. Though we buy in only the very best hay from Collessie Feeds, all hay has a dust and bacterial load that for most horses if absol
